About JG Towing

Small business, big dreams, Queens roots

We're not a national chain. We're not a venture-backed app. We're a small towing business that started in 2018 with one truck, one phone line, and one stubborn idea — that this industry could be done less scummy. The story.

Who we are

Eight years ago somebody picked up a phone in Kew Gardens and answered the first JG Towing call. The truck was a single flatbed. The dispatcher was the same person who drove the truck. The yard was a parking spot. That was the operation.

We're still small. We just have more trucks now, more drivers, and a dispatcher who isn't also rigging the cars. The phone is the same phone. The yard is the same address. The principle is the same principle: somebody has to answer at 3 AM, quote the fare honestly, send a real truck, and pay attention to the car like it's their own. Most of the industry doesn't do that. We do. That's the whole differentiation.

Big dreams, though? Yeah. We want to be the only number drivers in Queens save in their phone under "tow truck." Not the cheapest. Not the biggest. The one they actually trust. That's it. That's the whole roadmap. No franchising, no multi-state expansion, no app to disrupt the tow industry. Just the one number, answered by the same operation, every time you need it.

Our mission

Make tow service something Queens drivers don't dread calling.

That's it. That's the mission statement. We could pad it with buzzwords — "delivering best-in-class roadside customer experiences" — but you've read enough of those. Here's what it actually means in practice: quote the fare on the phone, show up when we said we would, treat the car like it's our own, charge what we said we'd charge, hand you a receipt that matches the call. Repeat the next time you call us. That's the entire job.

When something goes wrong — and it will sometimes, because we're humans running trucks through real-world traffic — we own it on the spot. Refund, follow-up, send another driver, whatever it takes for you to walk away square. We don't promise 100% satisfaction (anyone who promises that is lying). We promise that we make it right when something slips. Which is most of the time, but not always. The difference matters.

Our vision

A tow industry where consent is the default, not the exception. Where "tow truck guy at 3 AM" isn't a bogeyman story. Where prices are quoted on the phone, not extracted at drop. Where the operator who shows up tells you the truth about whether you actually need a tow at all.

We can't fix the whole industry. We can run our piece of it the right way and let the rest figure it out. Eight years in, the model holds — referrals from body shops and dealerships who've worked with predatory operators and prefer working with us, customers who keep our number saved, drivers who apply because they heard we don't run sketchy calls. That ecosystem is the vision. It's small, but it's real, and it keeps growing.

How we know we're not failing

Three signals we pay attention to:

Google reviews. 4.8★ from 69+ verified ones. Every review on our reviews page mirrors what's on our Google Business Profile — verified by Google, not screened by us. The five-star ones tell us we're not coasting. The four-stars tell us what to fix. Both are useful. We read every one.

Repeat callers. A high share of our weekly volume comes from people who called us before. People don't call back operators who treated them badly the first time. They sure don't refer their neighbor, their body shop, their mechanic. The compounding referral pattern — that's what tells us the work is good. Not a marketing claim. Just math.

Customer outcome on hard calls. Easy calls are easy — broken down, called, towed, paid, done. Hard calls are the test: 3 AM in February with three kids in the backseat and a dead battery. Post-accident on a residential block with the airbags still smoking. Tesla stranded in an underground garage. The hard calls are where we earn the reviews. We measure ourselves by how those go, not the easy ones.

Want to drive for us?

We hire when call volume warrants it — which is most of the time. If you've been driving tow trucks in NYC or Long Island and you want to work for an operation that pays W-2 (not gig), pays weekly (not net-30), uses our trucks (not yours), and doesn't run non-consent or rotation work — see the careers page. Application is a text message. Real person reads it. Real response within 24 hours.

Got questions?

Contact page has phone, text, email, and the Kew Gardens HQ address. No chatbot, no IVR, no offshore call center. The same line that answers a tow call answers a question call. Try it — call at a random hour and ask anything. We picked up.

A prayer for the Queens community

Most pages on this site end with a CTA to call us. This one ends differently. So instead — a quiet little prayer for the community that built this business and keeps it running:

May your battery hold. May your tire stay full. May your check-engine light stay dark. May your commute be uneventful. May the rain hold off until you make it home. May the mechanic give you the cheaper diagnosis. May your kids fall asleep on the way back from JFK. May the construction on your block end before next summer.

And on the day something does go wrong — because that's how cars work — may you remember to call somebody who'll answer. We hope it's us. If it's not, we hope it's at least somebody who runs the work the same way we try to.

Drive safe, Queens.
